Niwashi - Extension Kawa

Niwashi - Kawa Expansion: Expand the circle of gardeners!

The gardens of Nantoka-Ji Temple are welcoming new gardeners. The team is growing, and the bond between them is strengthening… but the silence remains absolute.

With the Kawa Expansion, your Niwashi game can now accommodate 3 or 4 gardeners, while retaining the essence of the base game: cooperation and wordless communication. Your goal remains the same: to accomplish as many objectives as possible together. This time, each player cultivates their own garden, separated from the others by rivers. Will you be able to understand each other with just a glance?

How do you play with the Kawa expansion?

The gardens are connected by a single bridge, which changes position each time an objective is completed. You can only place a tile in your own garden, or where the bridge connects you to a partner’s garden. As in the base game, no words are spoken: observe the gestures and glances around the table to guess who is signaling to whom, and which garden is about to complete a pattern. With 2 players, a variant adds a garden shared between the two of you, with its own objective to fulfill.

Why choose the Kawa expansion?

• Up to 4 players around the table
• A moving bridge that makes every game unique
• A 2-player variant with a shared garden
• New tiles and an exclusive meeple

Requires the Niwashi base game to play.
