Spell: Play as mages in a runic duel

The Great Mages’ Tournament of Äphalest takes place every thirty-three solar cycles. Under very strict rules, the most powerful mages and sorceresses face off in the Great Hall of the Palace of Quinusän, at the heart of the Distant Labyrinth. The person who demonstrates their supremacy is thus granted custody of the Vrinolur gem, one of four gems forged to control the dark forces.

Spells is a head-to-head game in which you and your opponent play as two mages competing in the Great Tournament of Äphalest. The goal of the game is to activate runes to score points. To activate a rune, you must use the tiles in the arena to replicate the shape shown on one of the rune cards. Activating runes also grants you access to powerful spells that can turn the game around. Spell can be played in three different ways:

• In symmetrical mode, where both mages possess identical powers.
• In asymmetric mode, where each of you chooses an amulet that grants you special powers.
• In solo mode, where you play against a computer opponent.
