Mechanimals: The Wild Machine Race

Take the wheel of a robotic animal and set off on a legendary race through uncharted territory. Will you manage to cross the final checkpoint before your rivals?

In Mechanimals, there’s no fixed board: the track is built as the game progresses, tile by tile. Explore the territory, take advantage of the terrain, and optimize your equipment to race toward the finish line. But every action causes your mechanics to overheat: it’s up to you to find the right balance between exploration, movement, and dirty tricks!

How do you play Mechanimals?

Your turn consists of two phases. During the Cooling phase, remove three Energy tokens from your board and cards—only two if you’re overheated. During the Action phase, spend your tokens as many times as possible to explore a new Terrain tile, move, or activate an Equipment card: engine, armor, leg, weapon... The terrain changes everything: the Desert speeds you up, the Mountain and Magma slow you down, and the Repair Bubble cools you down. Your weapons hinder opponents within range, but never eliminate them. To connect a Beacon, explore terrain that touches it—it will then reposition itself further along the course. The first Mechanimal to connect all the Beacons in order wins!
