How to play Carcassonne – Maires & Messagers?

Maires & Messagers is an expansion for Carcassonne. It requires the base game to play and is compatible with all other Carcassonne expansions. Alongside the classic rules, it introduces three major new elements. During the game, you may place a mayor in an already occupied city: he grants you additional knights. Town halls trigger a “crisis meeting”: all adjacent mayors are immediately removed from the game, stripping your opponents of their advantage. The scarecrow can be placed in fields to increase your farmers. Finally, the messenger brings unique mobility: when a road is completed, it can move to another road or city, extending its usefulness.
