Guillotine

Guillotine: Don’t Lose Your Head!

We’re in the midst of the French Revolution, and the line of condemned prisoners is growing longer. Twelve nobles are waiting for their turn: it’s up to you to place the most prestigious ones before your blade.

In Guillotine, you play as rival executioners thirsty for glory. Every head has its price: the more prestigious the noble, the more points they’re worth. The whole challenge lies in a mischievous twist: you never choose your victim—you can only claim the one at the front of the line. So you’ll need to jostle the order of the line using Action cards to secure the finest trophies for yourself… and leave the worthless commoners to your opponents. A biting and irreverent card game with unapologetic dark humor.

How do you play Guillotine?

The game takes place over three days of executions. At the start of each day, twelve Noble cards are laid out face up to form the queue. On your turn, you can play an Action card from your hand to rearrange the queue: move a valuable noble forward, push an undesirable one back, steal a head that’s already been collected, or change its value. You must then collect the noble at the front of the line, place it in your basket, and draw a new Action card. Watch out for special nobles: some, like Robespierre, immediately end the day, and guards are worth more the more you accumulate. After the third day, the points are tallied.
