Légendes et Voyageurs is an expansion that requires the Naishi base game to play. In this booster containing 14 cards, you’ll find two modules introducing new mechanics to the game:

• Legends are unique cards that serve as alternatives to the base game’s characters, offering new ways to score points.
• Travelers merely pass through your territory and don’t directly contribute to your prestige — but with their help, you can disrupt the game’s flow and surprise your opponent!

How to play Naishi

In this two-player game, you must develop your land both along the border and within its depths. The border is represented by a river of five cards, with two rows of five mountain cards on either side — one for each player. Each player also has a hand of five cards, hidden from the opponent, representing the hinterland. You may not change the order of your cards, whether on the table or in hand.

On your turn, choose one of the four possible actions:

• Discard a card from your hand or your side of the border, then replace it with the card in the same position from the river. As a bonus, before or after this, you may send an envoy to the court to swap the position of two cards (under certain conditions) or discard two cards from the river.
• Recall your envoys from the court to reuse them later.
• Place an envoy at the court to impose an imperial decree. This envoy is permanently lost, but that action can never be used again. It allows you to exchange cards in the same position between your row or hand and your opponent’s!
• Declare the end of the game if one of the river decks is empty. Your opponent plays one last turn, then proceed to scoring!

The game also ends when two river decks are empty. Each card includes scoring conditions, granting points based on its position and surrounding cards. Optimize your placement throughout the game to earn the most points — and rule over Japan!
