In Hanami, you place your tiles around parks in Japan to claim the best viewing spots. Three types of celebrations punctuate the game: flower viewing, lanterns and nighttime festivities, and food. Hanami elegantly reimagines Samurai, Reiner Knizia’s 1998 classic, with a brand-new board, abilities, and tiles. Once you’ve explored Japan, try the Tokyo side of the board—inspired by the Imperial Palace gardens and its canals—for a whole new challenge.

How do you play Hanami?

On your turn, place a tile on the board. As soon as a celebration space is completely surrounded, the corresponding token goes to the player with the highest total adjacent strength. At the end of the game, the player with the most tokens of a single type wins the associated Reward. The player with the most Rewards wins the game!
