Kano: Paint Your Own Masterpiece

In Kano, you try to create your own emakimono, an ancient narrative art form that tells a story through images on an unrolling scroll. On your personal board, carefully place your colorful paint pots in the columns to form patterns and collect tiles, which you’ll then arrange to score as many points as possible. Rearrange the shared board to create better options for yourself and work within the “gravity” rule, which requires careful placement of each element.

How to Play Kano?

On your turn, you rearrange the shared board to set up the best options for your next move, then collect paint pots while adhering to color and adjacency constraints. These cans allow you to obtain tiles that you must arrange precisely on your personal board to score as many points as possible and fulfill your objectives. Be careful to manage your space wisely: careless placement causes “Cloud” tiles to appear, which are worth zero points! Complete your Masterpiece cards to prove your talent and attain the rank of master at the Kano School.
