Apocalypse: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Turn Trick-tacking Upside Down

In Apocalypse, you try to score as few points as possible over the course of three rounds of tricks. Each Cavalier card played flips the Apocalypse tokens a little further over, and when they all land face down, the current trick turns into an Apocalypse: it’s no longer the highest card that wins, but the lowest card of the suit led that takes all the tokens! Use the Chaos and Tranquility cards to hasten the collapse, avoid disaster, or trap your opponents at the most opportune moment.

How to Play Apocalypse?

The game consists of 3 rounds. Trumps are played clockwise: follow the trump suit, unless you play a special card. Each Knight played flips the corresponding Apocalypse token. As soon as the last token is face down, the Apocalypse is triggered: the lowest card of the suit led then wins the entire trick! The winner of the trick chooses who leads the next one. After three rounds, the player with the fewest points wins the game.
