Gévaudan - On the Trail of the Beast is a competitive deduction game for 1 to 4 hunters. You play as a hunter who, hoping to win the 6,000 livres promised by King Louis XV, sets out to find the lair of the Beast of Gévaudan. Deduce its location by studying the beast's tracks, as well as the actions of the other players. Play in standard mode to discover the game in its most accessible form, or in historical mode for the complete, more varied, and in-depth experience.

How to play Gévaudan - Sur les Traces de la Bête?

The game takes place over several rounds until a player finds the location of the Beast's lair or the king's bounty expires. A game turn is divided into two phases:

• Hunters' Turn: Each player uses their action points to move around the board, examine the beast's tracks, heal themselves, or set a trap. Examining the tracks eliminates possible locations for the beast's lair. Opponents' actions can also provide clues about the information they have gathered.
• Beast's Turn: The Beast moves around the board and can injure unwary hunters. A new event is also revealed.

A game typically lasts between 5 and 8 turns.
