Tax the Rich: A revolutionary trick-taking game

Tax the Rich is a trick-taking game in which you play different figures in society to gain the upper hand. The President is, of course, more powerful than The Poor... unless a revolution breaks out! Then the order of card values is completely reversed. Play your cards at the right moment to win as many tricks as possible in this dynamic and political card game.

How to play Tax the Rich?

Each round consists of a betting phase followed by a trick-taking phase. During the betting phase, you determine who will be the party leader by betting on the number of tricks you will win. The trick-taking phase follows the rules of traditional trick-taking games, with the following exceptions:

• Incompetent Leader: You cannot lead a trick with The President (value of 12) unless it is the only card you have in your hand.
• Tax the Rich: If you win a trick with The Poor (value of 1), you can steal a trick from the opponent with the most tricks.
• Class Revolution: If all the cards in your hand have a red flag (values 1 to 3), you can declare a revolution by revealing your hand. For the rest of the game, the order of card values is reversed (the smallest number becomes the strongest).

The round ends when all cards have been played. Each player earns 1 point for each trick won. A bonus point is also awarded to the leader of the team if they have successfully made their bet. If they have failed, the bonus goes to the opposing team.
