In La Bohème, you play as an artist seeking fame and inspiration in the lively streets of Paris at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In this deckbuilding and racing game, you move between bustling cafés, smoky studios, and romantic encounters. Each day brings you closer to either success or despair: find your muses, create your masterpieces, and face the harsh reality of an artist’s life where talent alone is not enough to succeed.

How to play La Bohème

Each turn, you plan your artist’s daily routine: will you attend a social event, meet your muse, or decide to work to fund your art? Every card you play influences your inspiration and resources. Careful management of the order in which you play your cards is essential to optimize your inspiration gains and acquire new cards — whether habits, muses, or professional achievements.
Your goal: to obtain five Achievement cards before your rivals. The game ends at the close of the round in which a player reaches this milestone. The artist with the most Achievements at that time is declared the most renowned artist in Paris.
