Chess Game – Loisirs Nouveaux: 40 cm

Chess is built on a simple principle: you must capture the opponent’s king—that is, put it in check. If your opponent cannot respond to this check (moving or capturing pieces does nothing to change the outcome), the opposing king is said to be checkmate, and the game ends.

Chess is played with different pieces, each with its own unique movement pattern. Each player controls 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two bishops, two knights, two rooks, and eight pawns.
