Cartaventura - Haïku

Cartaventura - Haiku: On the Roads of Japan, in Search of Poetry

Cartaventura is a series of card games that are at once historical, narrative, and immersive. In the style of a “choose-your-own-adventure” book, you travel, explore, and make the right connections to ensure the best possible ending for the character you play.

Cartaventura - Haiku: Become Bashō’s Disciple

Spring 1689. You are Ren, the son of a noble family from the Ogaki domain. Your father has already mapped out the course of your destiny, without taking your dream into account: to become a poet.

Before your life is set in stone, you secretly set out on a grand journey across Japan. Your goal: to find Bashō, the greatest poet of the era, and become his disciple. But no one knows where the master is. Will you manage to find him as you leave your home province for the first time?

In Cartaventura, there is no rulebook: all instructions are printed directly on the cards. At each stage, they offer you different options, and you decide together how the journey will continue. Each choice reveals some of the adventure’s secrets, but never all of them: play again to take new paths and discover the scenario’s 5 endings. This new installment adds brand-new mechanics that give your journey a sense of mystery.
