After Central Europe and the moors of Dartmoor, Forêt Mixte - Smoky Mountains takes you to North America, to the heart of one of the most biodiverse national parks. This third standalone installment in the series introduces water as a key structural element of your ecosystem. Some cards even require an aquatic habitat to be played, which adds a real spatial dimension to building your forest. Anticipate the habitats you’ll need before the best spots slip away!

How to Play Forêt Mixte - Smoky Mountains?

On your turn, choose between two actions: draw two cards (from the draw pile or the shared clearing), or play a card from your hand by paying its cost. Cards used to pay are placed in the clearing and become available to your opponents. When you play a tree, you can pair it with a face-down card to create a universal river and increase its capacity to host species. River terrain cards can also host species both above and below them. Next, host black bears, bobcats, beavers, otters, squirrels, birds, fish, amphibians, insects, and plants, each with its own scoring conditions. The game ends as soon as the third Winter card is revealed. Players then tally their points.
