La Traversée du Désert is a placement game in which you lead caravans across the desert. Encircle territories and connect oases to gain the upper hand, and block your opponents' paths to thwart their plans! This 2026 edition of La Traversée du Désert gives Reiner Knizia's classic game a new look.

How to play La Traversée du Désert

Each player controls 5 caravans. Each turn, extend your caravans' routes by placing two camels on the board. Encircle areas of the board and reach oases to score victory points. Block your opponents' paths to prevent them from scoring points, but be careful, they will also try to block you! The game ends when one player has placed all of their camels of one color. If you have the most points, you win the game.
