Arigato – Recruit the finest artisans to win the Shogun’s favor

In Arigato, you take on the role of a village leader seeking to gain the Shogun’s favor. With the help of your artisans, you will craft exquisite offerings and compete with neighboring villages. Every decision counts: resources, craftsmanship, and timing will decide who earns imperial recognition.

How to play Arigato?

A game is played over 12 turns, each divided into three phases. During the Dawn Phase, secretly assign roles to your 5 artisans (residents, travelers, or craftsmen). Then, in the Daytime Phase, reveal your cards and trigger their effects to develop your village. Collect objects, prepare offerings, and decide which artisans to send to the Shogun’s palace for endgame favors. Finally, the Dusk Phase lets you check the Shogun’s whims for that day and score additional favors. Constant dilemmas – keep or give, produce or save, send to the palace or benefit from their powers – create a deeply strategic experience.
