The world of Altered has suffered the effects of a global cataclysm. A magical storm born of the collision between reality and fantasy has irreversibly altered the world. The few human communities that survived the apocalypse responded to a mystical call by converging on a peninsula now known as Asgartha.

Nearly 500 years after the cataclysm, it's time for mankind to launch expeditions to rediscover the world beyond the gates of Asgartha, and to confront the Tumult, the magical phenomenon that continues to alter the world.

In Altered, you play as the Hero of one of the 6 Factions of the game. Sent on an expedition, you and your Companion are to be the first to rediscover what happened to the Earth, after the Confluence, a magical storm, merged the imaginary world and ours.
