Vanguard cards are giant cards (9 * 12,5 cm) that alter game rules of a Magic game. They represent famous character of the game (Gerrard, Mirri, Squee…) and alter some rules in the game, like life total of a player, or the maximum cards one can hold in hand. They are generally considered as the first « Planechase » cards, as they alter the game for everyone, and are played just for fun.
