The Planeswalkers are about to kill Ulamog when Kozilek which everyone thought was dead comes to help his ally. A battle follows where the planeswalkers win in extremis. They decide to create the Gatewatch, an organisation recruiting Planeswalkers in order to protect the multiverse.
