A booster is a sealed deck of cards sold in Trading Card Games (TCGs). It contains a random assortment of cards and is one of the main ways to obtain new cards to complete your collection or improve your deck.
The booster is the flagship product of the Magic the Gathering license. From the first edition to the present day, Wizards of the Coast has always offered its new cards in booster form.
Opening a Magic the Gathering booster is always a special experience, both because of the randomness of the cards it contains, and because of the universe developed in each of the existing expansions. Discovery and excitement are always the order of the day.
To spice up the experience, there are now several types of booster, allowing each player to choose the experience that suits them best.
- The traditional draft booster, designed not only to launch a draft, but also to discover the cards in the edition. It's also the least expensive booster.
- The collector's booster features a multitude of premium cards, exclusive cards, alternative designs and a much higher proportion of rare and mythical cards. This is the most expensive booster because of the undeniable quality of the cards it contains.
- The set booster is designed to focus on the experience of opening boosters. With more rares and more special cards than booster drafts, expansion boosters don't allow you to draft, but they do allow you to get a better quantity of good cards than booster drafts.
- The play booster launched in 2024, which aims to merge the interests of the draft booster and the extension booster, since it offers both the possibility of drafts, but also a greater proportion of strong cards than in the draft booster.
- The Jumpstart booster allows you to play directly with an opponent as soon as you combine two of them together. You'll quickly rediscover the pleasure of playing Magic, with cards that are sometimes exclusive to this type of booster
In the past, other decks of cards similar to boosters have been released, such as starter packs or themed boosters. Starter pack grouped together the equivalent of 2 or 3 boosters and basic land. Themed boosters let you choose the color of the cards inside. There was also fully Premium boosters, launched exclusively for the Alara edition block. These products, although not available from current suppliers, may occasionally appear in the Playin catalog, depending on second-hand purchases.
You'll find a wide selection of all these Magic the Gathering boosters in our catalog. All types of boosters, in many different editions, are available. Take a good look, and you'll also find some exceptional boosters from very early editions
