All about the Sleeve category
Sleeves, are the most used gaming accessories by players. They allow you to protect your cards against wear, handling marks, or accidental wrinkles. Putting a card in a sleeve is a reflex to take whatever your collection or level of play. Protecting your cards as soon as they are obtained allows you to guarantee their good condition and therefore their value. Many cards increase in value over time. It would be a shame to lose this value due to card deterioration.
There is a very wide choice of card protectors due to the different sizes of playing and collectible cards. Playin offers you a very wide selection to ensure that you can protect all the collectible cards:
- The Standard format sleeves (66x91mm) are the most common card protectors because they cover many collectible card games: Magic, the Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece Card Game, Lorcana, and many others. These pouches are available with an opaque or transparent finish, in a solid or illustrated color, matte or glossy. The choice is very wide due to the very large number of users, looking for the right product.
- The Japanese format sleeves (62x89mm) are mainly used for the collectible card game Yu-gi-oh!
As for the standard format sleeves, many finishes exist for these sleeves.
- Sub-sleeves, called Perfect Size, Inner Sleeves or Perfect Fit are card protectors that perfectly fit the size of the card. This type of cover, very commonly used by collectors and tournament players, allows to insert a first protection, before adding a classic cover. The first in one direction, the second in the other, the card will then no longer interact with the outside. Each brand has its own name on this type of pouch, which explains the different product names that can be found. Some of its sub-sleeves are inserted from above and others on the side (Side Load). Some models also offer to seal the card with adhesive tape.
- Sleeves for board games are increasingly in demand also to protect the cards against wear. In this case, we do not seek to protect the cards because of their value, but mainly to protect them in order to avoid entering them that are recognizable or unusable. These card protectors exist in a multitude of sizes, due to the very large number of existing card sizes.
- The rigid sleeves commonly known as Top Loader are thick transparent plastic sleeves, wider than flexible sleeves, to protect cards against greater shocks.
The card is then no longer playable in a deck due to its thickness. It is a protection used only for collector cards during their storage or shipment.
It is common to protect large collector cards in a sub-sleeve, then a classic pouch; which one will insert into a Top Loader.
Within our catalogue of card protectors, you will find the right cover for every circumstance. Many brands are offered according to each person’s preferences: Gamegenic, Dragon Shield, Ultra Pro, Ultimate Guard, etc...
